Ariff Sabri sees Najib as a megalomaniac

It's becoming more evident every day that 1MDB is a grand idea Malaysia does not need, says the Raub MP.
ariff najib2PETALING JAYA: Raub MP Ariff Sabri thinks he has diagnosed the illness allegedly afflicting Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.
The PM is a megalomaniac, he declares in his latest blog entry, adding that Najib established 1MDB because he felt he had to do something innovative to feed that mania.
He notes that 1Malaysia and the various other projects and programmes that are attached to the figure “1” as well as those that are abbreviated, ETO, GTP, CTP and PTP and so on are all radiated from grandiose ideas.
The problem, he says, is that these ideas lack the stuffing to fill up their hollow shells. “There are no foot soldiers to convey his thoughts downwards. There are no gurus to expand upon his initial moves. His bubble gum bursts before it has a chance to expand.”
He says it’s becoming more and more evident that 1MDB is something Malaysia does not need.
“We already have a sovereign fund in Khazanah Nasional Berhad,” Ariff writes. “We don’t have to establish a new facility and a new structure and we don’t need to wait to enjoy the benefits.
“If we want to turn Malaysia into a hub for power generation and the oil and gas industries, we already have Petronas and TNB. Why don’t we tell TNB to take over all the IPPs (independent power producers) in the country or create TNB1, 2 and 3?
“And we don’t need 1MDB for real estate development, whether it’s at the Tun Razak Exchange or Sungai Besi or Air Hitam or wherever else.”
He says it is evident that 1MDB is just a facility for some people to make money and he urges former prime minister Mahathir Mohamad to continue exposing Najib’s incompetence as Prime Minister and Minister of Finance.
“The country will be destroyed if we let this go on,” he tells Mahathir. “Please continue to ask Putrajaya to come clean with 1MDB. If we do nothing, we’ll truly become 1Malaysia Dalam Bahaya (1Malaysia In Danger).”
