A fire broke out in a hostel housing Malaysian students at the Russian National Research Medical University (RNRMU) in Moscow at 11.30pm last night, according to the Malaysian embassy there.
A Wisma Putra statement said 21 Malaysian students were involved, with seven still receiving medical treatment for carbon monoxide poisoning and burns.
They are Mohannan Pattu, Pavin Raaj Selva Kumar, Praveena Sunthar Raj, Chen Wei Jun, Naveen Anbalakan, Zainal Nastaiin, and Sharath Raj.
Others received outpatient treatment. No casualties were reported.
Embassy officials have visited the students and are working with the university authorities to provide temporary accommodation for the affected students.
