Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah says Najib Razak must tell the truth regarding critical issues or risk losing support.
KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Najib Razak must make the decision to speak up about several critical issues facing his leadership or risk losing support, said Umno veteran Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah.
“It is high time that real answers are given, that the truth comes out of these things.
“It is going to be very difficult for anyone to get support if there are still unresolved issues,” he was quoted as saying by The Malaysian Insider at Parliament lobby today.
The “unresolved issues” Ku Li, as he is fondly known, was referring to were those mentioned in the latest blog entry of former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad regarding the murder of Mongolian Altantuya, 1MDB and the acquisition of a new jet for the PM.
“He (Dr Mahathir) wants to know the truth behind this. I am sure he must have his reasons for saying that.
“He is an old hand, he knows the ground quite well. He knows how things are run in political organisations in the run-up to the 14th General Election,” he said.
Mahathir has been a harsh critic of Najib and withdrew his support of him last year. Ku Li too has held nothing back in his criticism delivering a rather stinging attack on the PM when debating the royal address in Parliament in March this year.
