SINGAPORE - A Singapore Airlines (SIA) plane collapsed at around 8am today while the aircraft was at a gate at Changi Airport.
The airline said that the Airbus A330-300, registered as 9V-STG, was undergoing a landing gear system check when its nose gear retracted.
An engineer who was on the aircraft at the time of the incident was not injured. There were no passengers or crew on board.
SIA said that it will co-operate fully with the authorities on their investigations.
The aircraft last operated flight SQ835, which arrived from Shanghai at 12.49am. It was due to operate SQ890 to Hong Kong this morning, but as maintenance was being carried out on it, another aircraft was used for that flight.
A search online shows SQ890 departed Singapore at 8.18am today instead of the scheduled 7.35am.
