The air pollution index (API) in Banting returned to an unhealthy level at 104 at 9am today, according to the portal of the Department of Environment (DoE).
Meanwhile, 40 areas recorded a moderate API reading, including Putrajaya (98), Port Dickson (87), Bandaraya Melaka (80), Bukit Rambai (86), Nilai (92) and Port Klang (82).
The API in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur was at 88; Jalan Tasek, Ipoh,68; Perai, Penang, 57; Kuala Terengganu, 62 and Tanah Merah, Kelantan, 52.
An API of between 0 to 50 is considered good, 51 to 100, moderate; 101 to 200, unhealthy; 201 to 300, very unhealthy; 301 and above, hazardous.
The public can refer to the apims.doe.gov.my portal to get the latest API readings. – Bernama
