More than 90 police reports have been received nationwide on the meeting between PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar and Jacel Kiram, the daughter of the former head of a Sulu armed terrorist group, which intruded into Lahad Datu, Sabah in 2013.
Bukit Aman CID director Datuk Seri Mohmad Salleh said the reports against the Lembah Pantai MP were mostly from Sabah.
"The police have classified the case under Section 124 of the Penal Code and the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 (Sosma) and will be taking a statement from the MP soon."
Mohmad said however, the date to record Nurul Izzah's statement had not been fixed due to her daily commitments as MP.
Jacel had uploaded four photographs of her meeting with Nurul Izzah on November 9, in her Facebook account.
In February 2013, armed intruders from southern Philippines entered Malaysian waters by boat and gathered in stages at Felda Sahabat 17, Kampung Tanduo, Lahad Datu.
Nurul Izzah, in her statement earlier, admitted meeting Jacel while in the Philippines, together with Batu MP Chua Tian Chang as part of the PKR delegation to meet various interest groups of the country.
After severe criticism and denouncement by various parties, she apologised for hurting the feelings of Malaysians with her pictures with Jacel. – Bernama
