Air quality deteriorates in more areas

Only Pasir Gudang had slightly poor air quality as at 9am today but by midday 10 more areas saw the air quality starting to deteriorate.
According to Department of Environment (DOE) website, the areas that saw the air quality entering the moderate range under the Air Pollutant Index included Cheras in Kuala Lumpur which had an API reading of 71; Petaling Jaya (66); Perai and Larkin Lama (both 61); Banting (60); Batu Muda, Kuala Lumpur and Seberang Jaya 2, Perai (both 58) and Bakar Arang, Sungai Petani (52).
API readings of between 0 and 50 is considered good, 51 to 100 (moderate), 101 to 200 (unhealthy), 201 to 300 (very unhealthy) and 300 and above (dangerous). – Bernama
