1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) president Arul Kanda Kandasamy should not use Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia's ruling as an excuse to avoid debating about the troubled state-owned investment firm with PKR's Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli, DAP said today.
Its national organising secretary and parliamentary whip Anthony Loke Siew Fook said it was clear that Arul Kanda's position as a Public Accounts Committee (PAC) witness in the 1MDB probe would not be affected if he debated a non-PAC member.
"If you want to avoid the debate, just say so, do not have to use the Speaker as an excuse," Loke told reporters at the Parliament lobby today.
