‘Poor Dr M, try Chinese assembly hall or Azmin’

A pro-Umno portal launches a sarcastic swipe at Dr Mahathir Mohamad for complaining that owners of halls are not willing to open their doors to him due to fear of backlash from the government.
The writer of the article, published on MyKMU.net, said he was nearly moved to tears after reading about the former premier’s plight.
“Unfortunately, the tears are not because of sadness but being tickled by the ‘comical rhetoric’ of an eminent statement who now appears to be a ‘beggar for political support’, trying to garner sympathy,” read the post.
Offering to help the former premier, the writer, who was not named, urged hall owners not to be afraid to invite Mahathir to speak at their premises.
“Open those doors as wide as possible, roll out the red carpet, (have) bunga manggar, kompang and strew rose petals for him. Take pity on him.”
The article also suggested that Mahathir should try the Kuala Lumpur-Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall (KLSCAH).
“As far as I know, this hall is known for being used by the opposition to condemn and slander the government.”
If this does not materialise, MyKMU urged Mahathir to ask Selangor Menteri Besar Mohd Azmin Ali permission to use the Shah Alam Municipal Council building.
Another option, said the writer, was to secure a hall in the former premier’s home state of Kedah.
The portal also lambasted Mahathir (photo) for claiming that Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak is attempting to silence him and in the process, sabotage democracy.
The article stated that the former premier should not broach the subject of democracy as many in the opposition would vomit and ridicule him.
“Forgotten the years of being called ‘maha zalim’ and ‘maha firaun’? Forgotten who was labelled as a dictator and accused of ruling with an iron fist?
“Eat a lot of raisins (which is good for memory), then perhaps (you) can remember.”
If Mahathir remains adamant on wanting to speak in a hall, MyKmu suggested that he request his children to build one.
“The writer is convinced that they would be able to build one based on their wealth.”
Should the former premier insist on addressing Umno members, the portal said he could do this in Pagoh, the parliamentary constituency of axed deputy premier Muhyiddin Yassin.
“Perhaps something can be planned over there, right?”
The writer also claimed that he did not pen the article out of hatred for Mahathir, but rather due to love for him and apologised if the former premier felt slighted. -Mkini
