PETALING JAYA: A woman captured on video, taking out her anger on another motorist by hitting his car repeatedly with a steering lock, was charged today in the Magistrate Court here.
Shasha Farina Mohd Shapie was charged for “causing mischief” under Section 427 of the Penal Code, when she hit Cheah Jenq Yeh’s car using a steering lock on the morning of October 28 at SS15/5A Subang Jaya.
She was said to have used the steering lock to hit the front bonnet, left door, side mirror and front right side of Cheah’s car.
She faces a maximum five-year jail term or a fine or both if found guilty.
Shasha pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Magistrate Ahmad Solihin Abd Wahid set bail for her at RM3,500 with a surety and fixed the next mention date for the case on December 2.
Nur Aifaa Che Abdullah appeared for the prosecution while Haijan Omar represented Shasha.
Earlier today, Cheah was also charged at the Magistrate Court here for repeatedly ramming into the right passenger’s door of Shasha’s car.
Shasha’s act was caught in a 15-second video that has since gone viral with her explaining to the media later that she only hit Cheah’s car because she was defending her family’s safety after he had parked in a lot reserved for her, used profanities on her father and shoved him so hard the 67-year-old fell to the ground.
