THE MALAY PHD MENTALITY: PERANGAI HASAD DENGKI

mt2014-no-holds-barred
So, yes, as Nazir said, Malaysia is a perpetual ‘Game of Thrones’. And Malaysia will always be that way as long as we have Malays in this world. The only way to stop Malays from trying to bring down Malays is to give Malaysia to the Chinese, like Penang and Singapore.

Malaysia’s political climate akin to Game of Thrones says banker Nazir Razak
(The Star) – Prominent Malaysian banker Nazir Razak has compared the country’s political climate with that of the plot of the popular HBO series Game of Thrones, as he lamented that he was afraid for Malaysia’s future.
CIMB group chairman Datuk Seri Nazir Razak, who is the younger brother of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, on Saturday (Jan 30) shared a poster of the show on Instagram, showing one of the show’s characters standing on a ship’s deck while it sails into the mist.
“So what lies ahead? The parallels with GoT (Game of Thrones) continue,” he Nazir wrote on his Instagram account. “The future terrifies me: I just can’t see how our institutions can recover, how our political atmosphere can become less toxic, how our international reputation can be repaired,” he added.
**********************************************
Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak’s brother, Nazir, made a most profound statement today. Basically he was referring to the ills of Malaysian society in general and Malay society in particular. ‘Game of Thrones’, one of my favourite series, is where everyone tries to kill each other and it is one huge and never-ending political power struggle.
Malays are like crabs in a basket that needs not be covered. And it needs not be covered because the crabs would never be able to climb out. Every time one crab attempts to climb out, the other crabs would pull it back into the basket. And Malays are just like this. They cannot stand to see another Malay succeed. When another Malay succeeds they will bad mouth that Malay and try to bring him down.
Malays suffer from PHD or Perangai Hasad Dengki. Christianity would call this one of the seven deadly sins that would guarantee hell. Malays are already in hell here on earth because this PHD would eat into you like a cancer and eventually turn you into a creature that aches when its sees the success of others.
When a Malay becomes rich and successful (either in business or politics), the other Malays would become green with envy. If that Malay were a son of, say, a fisherman, they would say, “Ala, dulu dia tu apa? Anak nelayan je.”
If that Malay were a son of, say, a rich and successful person, they would say, “Ala, bapak dia kaya. Pasal tu dia bejaya.”
But if a Chinese, Indian or ‘others’ become rich and successful, the Malays do not care too much. They would not talk about whether that person’s father used to be a fisherman or a millionaire. Malays do not feel PHD towards non-Malays, only towards fellow Malays.
And that is why whenever any Malay comes up in politics (or business) the other Malays would try to bring him down. When Khalid Ibrahim became the Selangor Menteri Besar the other Malays worked very hard to try to bring him down. And now that Azmin Ali is the Selangor Menteri Besar they are also working very hard to try to bring him down.
When Nizar Jamaluddin became the Menteri Besar of Perak they also worked very hard to try to bring him down. In the end not only Nizar fell but the whole state as well. They did the same with Azizan Abdul Razak, the Kedah Menteri Besar. In the end Kedah fell as well and now they are trying to bring down the new Kedah Menteri Besar because he is trying to bring down the Prime Minister.
The Malays would rather see Singapore leave Malaysia and become a Chinese nation then have a Malay as the Singapore Prime Minister. The Malays are also happy that, since Merdeka, Penang has always had a Chinese Chief Minister. If you appoint a Malay Chief Minister in Penang the Malays would work very hard to try to bring him down.
Only then will the Malays be happy and not try to oust one another or try to bring each other down out of sheer PHD. Aren’t you glad you were not born Malay?
