Ahmad Maslan has a new ‘second job’

Deputy International Trade and Industry Minister Ahmad Maslan has a new ‘second job’.
Ahmad is no longer the Umno information chief, and has instead been appointed as the party's new Information Technology (IT) bureau chief.
It is understood that the IT bureau is in charge of cyber warfare.
Ahmad, who has also said he had a ‘third job’ as member of parliament, now has a ‘fourth job’ too.
Besides being the IT chief, he has also been appointed as an Umno supreme council member, to fill in the vacancy left by the late Jamaluddin Jarjis.
He had received many brickbats in late December last year for suggesting lower income earners should work two jobs to make ends meet.
Ahmad's new tasks were announced by Umno president Najib Abdul Razak today, as part of a supreme council restructuring exercise.
Umno shuffle
Replacing Ahmad as information chief is Ketereh MP Annuar Musa.
Umno vice-president Shafie Apdal's position as party voter registration and membership bureau chief has also been taken over by Tabung Haji chairperson Abdul Azeez Rahim.
Lenggong MP Shamsul Anuar Nasarah will take over Azeez's old job as Umno welfare chief.
Deputy finance minister Johari Abdul is the new economic bureau chief.
The restructuring exercise also saw the creation of two new bureaus.
The private varsity bureau is chaired by Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Razali Ibrahim, and the overseas students bureau is headed by Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Reezal Merican Naina Merican. -Mkini
