Dr Mahathir Mohamad who underwent treatment at the National Heart Institute (IJN) for chest infection was discharged today.
In a statement, IJN’s Corporate Communications Department said the former prime minister, who was discharged at 4.30pm, would continue with physiotherapy and exercises at home.
Dr Mahathir, 91, was admitted to the IJN on Aug 9.
In 1989, he suffered heart problems and underwent coronary bypass surgery at the IJN.
Dr Mahathir underwent a second bypass operation in 2007. In 2013, he was admitted to the IJN for 10 days for treatment of a chest infection.
