Ajil state assemblyperson Ghazali Taib has been advised to resign as state exco by the Umno Terengganu liaison information bureau chairperson, Wan Abdul Hakim Wan Mokhtar.
Wan Abdul Hakim agreed it would be a drastic move on Ghazali's part, but that it was best to do so, to ensure the smooth running of the state government under Menteri Besar Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman.
"Ghazali is a state government councillor, in the main group of policy makers and implementers. Why criticise the government under Ahmad Razif's leadership as non-functioning, when he himself is in the government?
"It means that he has also failed. He must explain what is it that is not functioning because he said it in general, which is confusing," he told reporters at the Cukai constituency Aidilfitri gathering last night.
Yesterday, Ghazali was reported to have criticised the state government and Ahmad Razif's leadership through the media, divulging an alleged internal crisis in the state government.
Meanwhile at the gathering attended by more than 15,000 people, Ahmad Razif approved RM50,000 to assist Bukit Kuang residents in Kemaman, who were affected by strong winds that wreaked havoc here recently.
The menteri besar also announced that RM175,000 had been set aside for youth associations in the Kemaman District.
