Maxis Bhd today said that the court proceedings in India involving Maxis Communications Bhd will not implicate the listed company.
In a filing to Bursa Malaysia today, Maxis said the proceedings would not have any impact on its operations as Maxis and Maxis Communications were separate and distinct legal entities.
As at midday break, Maxis’ share price on Bursa Malaysia rose one sen to RM6.10 with 129,600 shares changing hands.
Meanwhile, Astro Malaysia Holdings Bhd (AMH) also clarified that Astro All Asia Networks plc, which has been under investigation by India's Central Bureau of Investigation, is not related to the company.
“The board wishes to clarify that the entity mentioned in the news is a separate and distinct legal entity, and not a member of the Astro Group of Companies.
“The matter does not implicate, nor impact AMH, the entity listed on Bursa Malaysia Securities,” it added.
The counter ended the morning session two sen lower at RM2.95 with 118,800 shares traded.
