Najib: Umno supreme council took note of 'Malaysian Official 1'

Victor Johan: PM Najib Razak, you said, "We noticed that (the reference of 'Malaysian Official 1'), we noted that and the position (MO1) has been explained at to the public."

Najib, you only blurted this out at a press conference in Kuala Lumpur, but we don't recall that 'we' has ever explained this unnamed 'Malaysian Official 1' to the public - the Malaysians.

Why didn't you provide this supposedly "We's explanation" at this press conference and clear yourself?

And what is this nonsense about the Umno supreme council has taken note of? What explanation has been given to the public? That this is a civil matter and not a criminal one? Was that an explanation?

The real truth is that MO1 is the fellow who is related to Riza Aziz, had allegedly stolen RM2.6 billion which was deposited into his bank account and had great influence over the running of 1MDB.

Honestly, I suspect MO1 is either Mohamad Sabu, Rafizi Ramli or Tony Pua. To confirm this, we should check their bank accounts to see if we can find traces of the ‘stolen’ RM2.6 billion and check their relationship with Riza.

Odin Tajué: I, too, have noted the ‘Malaysian Official 1’ mentioned in the US Department of Justice’s filings.

He has been portrayed as a thief so avaricious and mercenary that he has allegedly stolen billions directly from 1MDB and thus indirectly from his own people.

He holds a very senior position in the government of Malaysia, occupies a position of authority in 1MDB, and is related to one Riza Aziz.

He has, on two of several occasions, allegedly stolen US$681 million in total from 1MDB. At other occasions, he has also allegedly stolen more millions from 1MDB.

If I have intuited the identity of the person correctly, then he has also been stealing large sums of money indirectly from the people of Malaysia for years prior, is a pathological liar, has no feeling of shame, completely amoral, and less trustworthy than the proverbial snake.

The Americans, if they can’t find a better description, would call such a person son of a bit*h. You, of course, are not he.

Just a Malaysian: Soulless, moraless, and may I add, shameless as to whoever is MO1.

Clever Voter: It is undeniably that the entire BN cabinet, not only Umno supreme council, is in denial.

They cannot change the fact that this is the biggest financial scandal in the world, and it has destroyed the credibility of the nation. Future generations will have to pay for the severe debts incurred.

Institutions set up to safeguard good governance are either been brought down to its knees or coerced into telling lies. Many more would have to be jailed for telling the truth.

Despite of all these, we have a minority bullying the nation into accepting their lies and corrupt practices. How different are we from a failed state?

Hibiscus: The DOJ obviously has no interest in helping Malaysia to bring the 1MDB scandal to a close, or else it would have named the person whom it identifies as ‘Malaysian Official 1’.

Likewise, it has no plans to bring ‘Official Malaysia 1’ to court. Its only interest is to deter US banks and US assets being used to launder money.

While the DOJ may have good reason not to name ‘Malaysian Official 1’, and finds it not necessary to do so to achieve its objectives, AG Mohamed Apandi Ali, as the highest law officer of Malaysia, has many good reasons to find out who ‘Malaysia Official 1’ is, among which is to see to closure of 1MDB saga, which is in line with directive of the Conference of Rulers, and the aspiration of the rakyat in that people who steal money from Malaysia are to be brought to face justice.

Therefore, Apandi must request the DOJ for the name of ‘Malaysia Official 1’. Or else he has failed miserably in his duties and responsibilities as AG, which he swore to uphold under oath.

Commentable: Najib, I think you don't understand the general sentiment of the public out there. Reading the comments in Malaysiakini will give you some idea.

People don't care what you or your Umno supreme council noticed, noted or the kind of bull that was explained to the public.

By making sly, cunning and insulting statements like this, Malaysia does not need the opposition to create or instil hatred against the government that you lead. You are doing the job just fine.

Perhaps you may not have noticed but if you did, you would have realised that you have singlehandedly brought the public to its tipping point of boiling over.

Restless: Gone are the days I'm proud of my nation. Gone are the days I look at my beloved Muslim brethren and feel overwhelmed with brotherly emotions and support. Not that I don’t have anymore, not that I don't want to.

But today, yes today, we have to unite to renounce such level of hypocrisy, abuse of power and blatant misuse of race and religion to divide the nation - not for the benefit of non-Muslims, but for the benefit of every Malaysian.

Vijay47: Najib, I cannot help but think that you have a severe chronic streak of masochism in you.

You seem to delight in coming out with statements that make you the laughing stock of the entire world and lead them to actually wonder whether the pressures of your problems are causing you to lose your sanity.

If you had kept your mouth shut and just made some terse comment about what transpired at your Umno supreme council meeting, you could have spared yourself the humiliation of being further regarded an absolute idiot.

But no, you have to try to be a suave politician. Do you really think that the more you talk, the more you "explain to the public", the more people are going to be convinced of your innocence in respect of the host of allegations against you?

Who are your advisors, minister Salleh Said Keruak, inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar, and attorney-general Mohamed Apandi Ali?

Frankly, Najib, I don't give a damn about how poorly the world views you but I am saddled with the reprehensible fact that you are the prime minister of the country I am a citizen of.

My guess is, ‘Malaysian Official 1’ did away with his conscience a long time ago.
