PKR's Kuala Kurau assemblyperson Abdul Yunus Jamhari has been summoned by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), over a Facebook posting featuring a caricature of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.
Yunus posted the caricature which featured the words 'Bapa Songlap Negara' (Father of Corruption) in a Facebook posting on Oct 22, 2016.
The caricature of Najib also shows him flashing his middle finger and holding a wad of RM100 notes.
Yunus goes by the name 'Rakyat Marhaen' on Facebook.
He said he will give his statement at the MCMC office in Bandar Meru Raya, Ipoh at 11am.
In June, activist artist Fahmi Reza was charged under the Communications and Multimedia Act over a caricature showing Najib in clown face.
Fahmi and three others were also detained overnight at a police lock-up over T-shirts featuring the clown face caricature.
The case grabbed international headlines, with graphic artists releasing online their version of clown-faced Najib in solidarity.- Mkini
