The 9-year-old girl was taken away by her biological mother, say police.
PETALING JAYA: Nine-year-old Hamsa Vharshallinee, who was reported missing from her home in Taman Desaria here last night, has been found.
Petaling Jaya district police chief Mohd Zani Che Din said Hamsa was found safe in Kuala Kubu Bharu with her biological mother, an hour after the missing report was lodged.
The report was lodged by Hamsa’s stepmother at 9.30pm after she was found missing from her grandparents’s home in Taman Desaria.
Earlier at 3.30pm, the girl had gone to the neighbourhood shop to buy ice cream and cakes. She returned home after that, but went missing later.
A neighbour told Hamsa’s family she had seen the girl with a woman but did not know where she had gone.
Zani said Hamsa’s biological mother also lodged a report on the matter after Hamsa’s disappearance was highlighted over social media to seek the help of the public.
Police are continuing investigations into the matter. -FMT
