Well its a Scale 8 on the local Richter again. Latheefa Koya has been appointed the Chief Commissioner of the MACC. Here is the news:

My comments :
Congratulations to Latheefa Koya on this appointment. For a long time Latheefa has certainly been fighting for the downtrodden and for what she believed to be right and true. Congratulations are also due to her father (my old acquaintance) Haji PK Koya. It should be a happy day for the family of Haji Pk Koya.
The first question that arises is why did Shukri ask or agree to retire early? His two year contract started on May 17th 2018. He is leaving just after one year.
Secondly who picked Latheefa? In the PKR Latheefah is not in Brader Anwar's camp anymore. Or this is the general reading. It is an exciting appoitment.
If I may say something - the pace of going after the crooks and the corrupt from the old BN cabal has slowed down.
Talk is some of them have now 'crossed over' and have won 'immunity' in exchange for political friendship and cooperation.
That will be a fatal mistake for the Pakatan Harapan.
Very few of the old corrupt gang has been arrested, charged in Court and sent to jail.
Najib, Rosmah, Zahid Hamidi, Ku Nan, Shafee are just a few of them.
There must be no slow down.
What about the other supporting actors? You know those guys who stole say RM100 milion, RM300 million etc?
For example that muallaf chinaman behind that traffic camera project. No action? Talk only?
Or the media fellow who was using money and breaking the law as well. No action? Talk only?
These folks are the kuci rats, the smaller gurkhas who stole a few hundred million only. The MACC must go after them. The net has to be cast wider.
Get our money back. They stole taxpayers' money.
And there has always been massive corruption in the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Home Affairs, the Dewan Bandraya Kuala Lumpur, certain parts of the Police, certain parts of the Immigration Department, some parts of the Customs Department that seems invincible and incurable.
When I was on the MACCs Advisory Panel for FOUR YEARS, I did write and table a couple of papers to the MACC's Advisory Panel.
One of them was a "Black Area White Area" Strategy for the MACC to permanently cure the "permanent hotspots" that have always been identified with Police, DBKL, Immigration, Customs etc.
More on this later. The paper should still be with the MACC.
