MELAKA: Civil servants must be able to manage their emotions when dealing with people, says Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
“We must ensure friendly services are provided at government departments and agencies,” he said.
Dr Mahathir said the responsibilities of civil servants to the grassroots also encompasses affable, efficient and prompt services.
“Serving the people as a civil servants is a noble obligation as well as a responsibility as a government employee,” he said when delivering his keynote address to Melaka civil servants at Seri Negeri at Ayer Keroh here on Monday (June 10)
Dr Mahathir said the success of a government organisation depends on the efficient management of civil servants.
He added that the government is also serious in combating corruption, strengthening accountability, and ensuring good governance as well as integrity among civil service structures. - Star
