Hadi: No 'revenge' on civil servants if PAS forms gov't

PAS MUKTAMAR | PAS has pledged that it will not seek "revenge" on any civil servant if the party is given the mandate to take over the government from Pakatan Harapan at federal or state level.
The promise is not mere political rhetoric, but rather a command from Allah SWT, PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang said today.
"PAS gives our commitment to recognise the loyalty, efforts and integrity of civil servants and security personnel on duty and we pledge not to seek revenge if there were to be a change of power at federal or state levels.
"This is not a political promise but it is what is taught by Islam as commanded by Allah SWT," Hadi said in his policy speech themed "Islam Leading Unity" at the 65th PAS Muktamar in Kuantan.
The issue of civil servants' loyalty was raised following Pakatan Harapan's takeover of Putrajaya from BN last year, after alleged difficulties were claimed in implementing certain policies or reforms.
The government then responded by initiating changes, including replacing several key government officers in order to facilitate Harapan's administration.
Commenting further, Hadi said PAS' commitment could be seen in the positive relationship between state governments in Kelantan and Terengganu with their civil service units.
"This is different from the situation faced by civil servants in Putrajaya," he claimed.
'Downfall of communist, capitalist governments'
In the one year since Harapan's victory in the 14th general election, Hadi claimed that Putrajaya failed to deliver a nation-building plan based on true Islamic teachings.
He also claimed that Harapan has amassed a long list of unfulfilled promises and ultimately failed to meet the people's needs with its policies.
At the global stage, Hadi noted the downfalls of communist and capitalist governments that he claimed resulted from going against nation-building norms.
"Communism rejects the existence of God and restricts individual liberty, but failed to create a just society.
"Capitalism, on the other hand, idolises material things and accords personal freedom, but resulted in high debt and insatiable greed, as well as rejecting ties between politics and religion," he said in arguing for a downfall of Harapan in the next 15th general election. - Mkini
