PKR has yet to receive a response to the show-cause letter issued to its Satubong Youth chief Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz, who recently implicated himself in a sex video scandal.
PKR communications director Fahmi Fadzil believes the matter will be discussed at a meeting of the party's political bureau later today.
"Not yet (received Haziq's show-cause letter), but tomorrow (Sunday) we have a meeting, maybe we will talk about this," he told reporters after an open house in his constituency of Lembah Pantai last night.
On June 19, PKR handed Haziq a show-cause letter for making remarks that tarnished the image of the party and ruined the leadership's reputation. He was given 14 days to answer.
On June 12, Haziq filmed a confession claiming himself to be the individual in sex videos disseminated among the media and PKR members.
He also claimed that the other individual featured in the videos was PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali.
Azmin denied the allegation, describing it as "malicious slander" and an attempt to destroy his political career.
Commenting on allegations that PKR was not being firm with Haziq, Fahmi insisted the party did not want to take the lead in the investigation of some of the sex videos.
"We give space to the authorities and we will take action when there is a result from the investigations," he said. - Mkini
