Pakatan Harapan Youth has been branded as acting beyond its capacity for lodging a report on Umno's source of funding to the Registrar of Societies (ROS).
Kelantan Umno Youth treasurer Wan Mohamed Rasman Wan Hassan said the act by Harapan Youth was akin to the Malay proverb ‘lebih sudu dari kuah' as the allegation was still under investigation by the MACC.
He added that even the Attorney-General's Chambers had not pressed any charges against Umno divisions over the allegation.
”We view this action by Harapan Youth as maliciously intended to cover up issues surrounding the coalition today, especially the video sex clip which allegedly involves their leader," Rasman told Malaysiakini.
Yesterday, Malaysiakini reported that Kelantan Harapan Youth urged ROS to take action against Umno over the allegation that the latter has received money from 1MDB.
Hazmi Hassan, the deputy head of Kelantan Harapan Youth, reportedly made the call following MACC claims that Umno was one of the parties to receive 1MDB funds.
”According to MACC, some RM212 million of 1MDB funds were channelled to Umno.
”This cannot be forgiven as 1MDB funds should be used to develop the country's economy, not to be used for the interest of political parties and Umno," Hazmi said.
Rasman, meanwhile, stressed that Umno has not been proven guilty by any court of law, and the civil forfeiture suit initiated by MACC was only filed last week.
”I feel the action of reporting Umno to ROS was unwise and reflects on the low IQ level (of Harapan Youth).
”I believe that since Kelantan Umno has yet to be proven guilty, such an issue should not be played up.
”This was just to cover their cowardice on the unity of ummah (between Umno and PAS) which has been well received by many Malaysians," he said. - Mkini
