‘MAHATHIR WOULD HAVE SEEN GAY SEX VIDEO BY NOW’ – ANWAR REVEALS MEETING WITH PM: ALLEGED GAY LOVERS AZMIN & HAZIQ TO RETAIN THEIR PKR POSTS AS ‘NO EVIDENCE’ ANWAR RULES OUT INTERNAL PARTY SABOTAGE – ALL EYES ON WHETHER PRO-AZMIN DEPUTY MINISTER WILL SACK HAZIQ AS HIS AIDE

PETALING JAYA — PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has insisted today that no PKR member is behind the gay sex videos released to attack his deputy Datuk Seri Azmin Ali.
Anwar said there is no evidence to support such a claim, amid allegations of an internal tussle being the cause of the scandal.
“We have no issue with the party, the only thing we considered most is this attack which we condemn.
“Not withstanding wherever or whatever the source is. We have no evidence to suggest the party is the enemy,” Anwar told reporters.
During the nearly two-hour meeting, Anwar said the party leadership had amicable discussions on what kind of statement to present to the public, how the party has been affected and how to tackle the issue within the rules.
He said they also discussed how not to interrupt investigations as the matter is being probed by police and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
“There was consensus all round and no quarrels,” Anwar said when asked if the meeting was a heated one.WILL
“But it is my duty to find out more about this and I will after this. However, I want to stress that regardless of this, it won’t affect our resolve.”
Anwar also said that Aznin is still PKR deputy president and there will be no changes in the party.
“I spoke to him yesterday at length and assured him we will do everything we can to help him and his family,” he added. MALAY MAIL

Anwar: Haziq still PKR member, deputy minister to decide fate

PETALING JAYA — PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said today Haziq Aziz is still a PKR member, following his alleged involvement in the gay sex videos attacking Datuk Seri Azmin Ali.
“We will leave it to the deputy minister to announce at the appropriate time what action to take.
This comes as Santubong PKR Ahmad Nazib Johari insisted earlier that his Youth wing chief Haziq has denied he is the man featured in the gay sex clips.
Ahmad Nazib said Haziq also denied being the one in the video confessing to having said sex and calling for Azmin to be investigated for corruption.
“There will also be no suspensions or temporary suspensions as we need some answers,” Anwar explained.
“We will make sure discussions continue and more importantly, we will leave it to the police and MACC to investigate further.”
Anwar himself has been in a similar situation twice and comparisons have been drawn.
In 1998, Anwar was sacked from the role of deputy prime minister by then-Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad over allegations of sodomy and corruption, ending up in prison.
While part of the opposition in 2010, Anwar was again charged with sodomy, charges he has maintained were made up by his political foes to prevent him from gaining more political clout.
When asked how he felt seeing a similar case crop up involving one of his own he said: “I expected my case to be the last of this strand of politicking but it’s continuing. It’s deplorable and I strongly opposed it.”
Anwar said he had already met the prime minister yesterday morning to discuss the issue of the video.
“He (Dr Mahathir) has not seen the video when I met him but I believe now he has. He can’t comment much until he sees the full report though,” added Anwar.
Anwar was also asked if Dr Mahathir gave him an explanation as to why he appointed new MACC chief commissioner Latheefa Koya without consulting the Cabinet to which Anwar replied: “Yes we spoke about her and he told me he will do everything accordingly.”
“He is also prepared to meet the Parliament Select Committee soon. I support his decision.”- MALAY MAIL
