KUALA KANGSAR: Police have launched a hunt for a man who escaped after he drove his car against the flow of traffic and crashed into several vehicles on Jalan Raja Idris late on Sunday night.
In the 11pm incident, a policeman on patrol tried to stop the man’s car in front of Kuala Kangsar Hospital but it sped away and drove against the traffic.
The car came to a halt after hitting several vehicles and a motorcycle.
Police have identified the 27-year-old driver, who fled on foot. An 18-year-old teenager in the car was arrested, said Kuala Kangsar district police chief Razali Ibrahim.
He said the suspect had 15 criminal records related to robbery, car theft and house break-ins. The male teenager did not have a criminal record but was tested positive for drugs.
Police, who seized a fake pistol, a small amount of cannabis and syabu and a police vest from the car, believe the duo may have been planning to commit a crime. - FMT
