1. Indonesia
I heard this news earlier - last month - from a friend (who got it straight from Indonesia). Indonesian President Jokowi is weeding out Muslim Brotherhood or Ikhwanul Muslimeen supporters from all Civil Service positions in Indonesia including from their universities. The official statements by the Indonesian government have come out only recently but under the more generic terminology of 'Islamists', covering all the fruitcakes in Indonesia including Salafis. The bigger threat seems to be the Muslim Brotherhood. Here is the news :
govt wants to introduce stricter background checks
psychological test to gauge candidates’ leanings

Jokowi wants to ensure country remains moderate Islam
Indonesia to tighten vetting of public servants
fears that hardline ideology permeated govt
some groups calling for Islamic state
rise in conservatism major test for Jokowi
radical groups accusing him of anti-Islam
divisions between moderate and conservative Muslim
Islamic teachers told teens to join Jakarta riots
Widodo to ensure Indonesia remains moderate
radical Islam threats state, future of democracy
vetting plan big priority for him
before next election in 2024 radicals weeded out for healthier democracy
govt to introduce stricter background checks
plan will be rolled out at 10 biggest ministries
several state-owned enterprises
Ministries targeted : Finance, Defence, Health, Education, Religion, Public Works
Priority enterprises : Pertamina, Garuda, bank BRI, Antam, Timah, media
keep hardliners from rising
20% civil servants, 10% state enterprise workers did not agree Pancasila
instead favoured theocratic state
What we’re seeing is not sudden but result of seeds planted years ago through small movements that at the time were not considered a threat to the state.
For over 10 years, these ideas have been tolerated, accepted, and perhaps even used by elements of the state,” one govt document said
officials, experts will work to promote Pancasila
Pancasila includes national unity, social justice, democracy
enshrines religious diversity in officially secular system of govt
Pancasila is umbrella that protects all Indonesians
tool to unify against virus of radicalism

2. Istanbul, Turkey
AKP's candidate lost Istanbul, major blow to Erdogan
the whole of Istanbul and Turkey won said secularist CHP, received 54% of vote
Erdogan claimed "whoever wins Istanbul wins Turkey"
taken gamble by forcing re-run that backfired
Imamoglu not only won but increased vote by 6%
My comments : This was the rerun of the elections in Istanbul AFTER Erdogan had lost it marginally in their most recent general elections. In the re-run Erdogan was defeated by an even wider margin.
The Muslim Brotherhood is losing its perch in many Islamic countries.
Phrases like 'Neither East nor West Islam is the best' were manipulated to their advantage. They led the Muslims around the world to think that their version of whatever religion they uphold is indeed Islam and that is the best for the world.
Sadly many people around the Islamic world got conned by these falsehoods. So they went along. The result is suffering, backwardness and all the other really sick and sad things that have afflicted the Muslims.
Unfortunately some muslims take longer time than other muslims to realise this. Some like OSTB have realised this since Day 1. But others (like many in Malaysia) must go through the roller coaster before they realise anything.
Dont take too long a ride on the roller coaster ok.
Jangan lama sangat terbawa-bawa dalam roller coaster.
