PETALING JAYA: Umno leaders and members have been told to stay clear of a sex video scandal featuring a man alleged to be a senior federal minister and PKR leader.
In a statement, Umno’s acting president Mohamad Hasan also advised the party’s members not to take advantage of the situation and do things which would only make the situation worse.
“Umno will not be involved in matters which disgrace any party, and we will not be a party or social movement which accepts such a thing.
“Let us pray that any oversight by any party will end in the best way for all. Umno will focus its time and energy to help the people and bring leadership to the people,” Mohamad, who is also known as Tok Mat, said.
Umno’s failure to serve the people, he said, was far more disgraceful than any scandal wrought with uncertainty.
Earlier, today, a deputy minister’s aide said he was one of the individuals seen in the viral video clip showing two men engaging in homosexual acts.
In a half-a-minute video uploaded on Facebook at about 3am today, Muhammad Haziq Aziz also named the person he was with, a senior federal minister who is also a PKR leader.
The clips, accompanied by the sound of a foreign news bulletin, have been circulating on WhatsApp since yesterday. - FMT
