Umno to keep Jasin seat after election petition fails

Umno leader Ahmad Hamzah will retain the Jasin parliamentary seat after an election petition challenging his victory was unsuccessful.

The Election Court in Kuala Lumpur today dismissed the election petition brought by Khairuddin Abu Hassan, who had contested the seat under Amanah in the 2018 general election.

Khairuddin lost by only 219 votes, having garnered 26,341 votes to Ahmad's 26,560 votes. PAS received 8,860 votes.
