SIBU: A 28-year-old man clad only his underwear and wielding a knife was arrested after he challenged motorists to fight along Jalan Merlin here on Friday (June 28).
Sibu OCPD Asst Comm Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said the police rushed to the scene after receiving a call from a contractor, one of the motorists threatened by the suspect.
"The 26-year-old contractor sustained RM700 in damage after his car bonnet was dented by the suspect," he said.
He added that police traced the suspect to his house on Belian Lane near the scene of the crime and the suspect threw the knife in the drain when the team arrived.
The case is being investigated under Section 6(1) of the Corrosive and Explosive Substances and Offensive Weapons Act and Section 437 of the Penal Code for causing mischief which causes damage to property.- Star
"Our initial investigation shows that the suspect had a ganja overdose," said ACP Stanley, adding that he would be remanded on Saturday (June 29).
