Who are the members of task force probing Koh, Amri disappearances?

Home Minister Muhyiddin Yassin today announced the members of a special task force formed by his ministry to reinvestigate the alleged enforced disappearances of pastor Raymond Koh and activist Amri Che Mat.

Malaysiakini takes a closer look at the backgrounds of the task force's members below. 

1. Abd Rahim Uda

Abd Rahim is the chairperson of the task force and a former judge who was appointed to the High Court of Malaya on Sept 5, 2007. 

Among the cases Abd Rahim handled during his time in the judiciary was the case of Teoh Beng Hock in 2011, when he upheld a coroner's open verdict on the political aide’s death.

2. Moktar Mohd Noor

Moktar became Bukit Aman IGP Secretariat PDRM (Legal) head on May 20 this year, where he served until his retirement recently.

Previously, he had served as a deputy director of the prosecution unit within the police’s Criminal Investigation Department.

3. Zamri Yahya

Zamri was appointed as the director of the police’s Integrity and Standard Compliance Department on Aug 6, 2018, and has been serving in the position since then.

Prior to this, he was the research and development head of the IGP Secretariat, and director of operations coordination cum policing adviser to the deputy prime minister.

He had also served as director-general of government security.

Additionally, Zamri held the position of Kedah state police chief, before becoming Bukit Aman Management Department director on Sept 8, 2016.

4. Muhammad Bukhari Ab Hamid

Muhammad Bukhari is the operations director of the Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission (EAIC).

He was previously a legal adviser at the Prime Minister's Department's Legal Affairs Division.

5. Mohd Sophian Zakaria

Mohd Sophian is a legal officer with the Attorney-General's Chambers' Prosecution Division.

He had also served as head of prosecution at the Communications and Multimedia Commission, and a deputy public prosecutor for MACC.

6. Mohd Russaini Idrus

Mohd Russaini, who is serving as secretary for the task force, is a division secretary with the Home Ministry's Police Force Commission. - Mkini
