Youths support Harapan due to awareness, not lack of morals, Hadi told

Amanah vice-president Mujahid Yusof Rawa has taken his party's rival to task for saying youths in Pakatan Harapan lacked morals.
Labelling it the "sacred party" (parti suci), Mujahid said PAS would only deem these youths worthy if they were its supporters.
He also urged his opponents not to use religious slurs against those who are not followers of PAS.
"Those who do not support the party, PAS says lack moral standing. That should not be the way to view people, especially youths," he told reporters after attending an Amanah Aidilfitri celebration in Kepala Batas today.
"It is wrong to interpret the youths as such. Youths will only support leadership that has vision and is forward thinking – unlike PAS, which continues to harp on about the past.
"Youths support Harapan due to their awareness in wanting a new Malaysia."
He was responding to PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang, who reportedly said that the 30 percent of the youths who voted for Harapan in the last general election did not study the Quran.
Hadi also alleged that these youths did not study religion, but only studied their mobile phones, Facebook and WhatsApp.
The PAS leader purportedly said so when opening the Dewan Muslimat assembly at the party's muktamar in Kuantan yesterday.
Mujahid also condemned the use of gutter politics, like using sex videos to tarnish the reputation of political rivals.
"Islam does not condone such practices, and it should be stopped," he said.
His statement echoed that of DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang, who earlier today cautioned his Harapan colleagues that the sex video scandal implicating Economic Affairs Minister Mohamed Azmin Ali could derail the 'New Malaysia' agenda. - Mkini
