Former deputy prime minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi appeared at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters in Putrajaya today.
MACC spokesperson confirmed that the Umno president was summoned to have his statement recorded this morning.
However, it is uncertain what is he being questioned about. He was still in the MACC office as at noon.
Last week, Zahid was also summoned to MACC to facilitate investigation into the land swap deal controversy involving the Defence Ministry.
Yesterday, another former defence minister, Hishammuddin Hussein, was probed for seven hours on the same matter.
Meanwhile, Harian Metro reported that Zahid, the MP for Bagan Datuk, was summoned to be probed over alleged kickbacks from a private company to facilitate the entry of tourists from China.
He would be quizzed by the MACC's Special Operations Unit under Section 16(a) of the MACC Act 2009, the Malay daily reported.
It also quoted a source as saying that Zahid would be charged in two courts, one in Kuala Lumpur and the other in Shah Alam, tomorrow in relation to this case. - Mkini
