PELANGAI BY-ELECTION | Umno Pahang chairperson Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail today went to the ground to take voters out to the polling station.
The Pahang menteri besar did so to ensure that Pelangai voters carried out their responsibilities as registered voters.
He drove his own car to send voters to cast their ballots.
“Even though Tokwan (his nickname) didn’t vote today, Tokwan is in the same spirit as the voters in the Pelangai state constituency.
“This is to ‘deliver’ voters to the polling station.
“May the journey to and fro for all voters be safe and easy,” he said in a post on Facebook.
Umno secretary-general Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki also uploaded a photo of Wan Rosdy sending voters to the polling station.
The Pelangai by-election is being held following the death of its incumbent, Johari Harun, in a light plane crash in Elmina, Shah Alam, on Aug 17.
In the last general election, the late Johari won the seat with a majority of 4,048 votes, defeating Kasim who got 3,260 votes; Ahmed Wafiuddin Shamsuri from Pakatan Harapan (2,031 votes), and Isa Ahmad from Pejuang (65 votes).
The Pelangai by-election is seeing a three-cornered fight between BN’s Amizar Abu Adam, Kasim Samat of PN, and independent candidate Haslihelmy DM Zulhasni. - Mkini
