KUALA LUMPUR: Shuttler Ng Tze Yong has finally ended his frustrating quarter-final jinx.
At the seventh time of asking this year, the world No. 19 advanced to the last four of the Arctic Open after triumphing 21-11, 21-18 against Lu Guang Zu of China today.
The last time Tze Yong made it to semi-finals of a World Tour event was 11 months ago, then at the Australian Open.
He will meet either China's Lei Lan Xi or Japan's Kanta Tsuneyama for a place in the final tomorrow.
It will mark Tze Yong's best achievement yet on the World Tour if he makes it to the final.
The other time his progress was halted in the last four was at the India Open last year. - NST
