PETALING JAYA: Umno Youth will file police reports nationwide over Tony Pua’s alleged disrespectful remarks about the former King in light of Najib Razak’s commuted sentence.
They want the former DAP MP to be investigated for questioning the decision by Al-Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah, whose term as the Yang di-Pertuan Agong ended last Tuesday.
“Police reports against Pua will be filed nationwide by Umno Youth (members) over his insolence in disputing the decision made by the (then) Agong.
“See you in court, a**hole,” Umno Youth chief Dr Akmal Saleh said in a Facebook post.
He shared screenshots of Pua’s Facebook posts on a report by New Straits Times on the reduction of Najib’s jail term and fine over the SRC International case.
“King Klep pardoned! Looking forward to a public holiday too!” read Pua’s caption.
Akmal also shared a screenshot of another post: “Can someone send me to jail for one year and in exchange, pay me RM50 million? Pretty please?”
“I beg your pardon?” read another post by Pua.
Yesterday, the Federal Territories Pardons Board announced that Najib’s prison sentence has been reduced from 12 years to six.
His fine has also been reduced from RM210 million to RM50 million. However, if he fails to settle the fine, a year will be added to his sentence.
The board is headed by the King and consists of five members – the attorney-general, the federal territories minister (currently Dr Zaliha Mustafa) and a maximum of three others appointed by the King.
The former Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Pahang’s Al-Sultan Abdullah, presided over the board’s meeting last Monday. - FMT
