'Everything is TMJ's fault' - Regent hits out at Selangor FC

In a sarcastic swipe, Johor regent Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim said Selangor FC can now blame him or another “grand conspiracy” over the recent string of attacks against the Red Giants players.

Tunku Ismail, who owns Johor Darul Ta’zim FC (JDT), claimed this is the only way for Selangor FC to “cover up its failures instead of owning up to their blunders”.

“Confirm this is all the work of TMJ with JDT, mastermind, and the hidden hand.

“What’s next Dr Johan (Selangor FC CEO Johan Kamal Hamidon)? The best way to cover up failure after spending RM47 million of the government’s/people’s money every year is by being good at making up stories,” he said in a social media post.

Tunku Ismail also accused Selangor FC of “playing victim”.

“Everything is TMJ’s fault, FAM’s, MFL’s and PDRM’s. They themselves never did any wrong. ‘False flag’,” he said in a comment he left under a Malaysian Football League Instagram posting about a Selangor FC player who was robbed last night.

Selangor FC defender Ahmad Khuzaimi Piee

Earlier today, it was reported that the burglary incident at the home of Selangor FC defender Ahmad Khuzaimi Piee yesterday has been determined by police to be unrelated to the recent assault cases involving other footballers.

Shah Alam district police chief Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim stated that authorities have concluded this was simply a case of a break-in, ruling out any connection to the other football player attacks that have occurred lately.

Govt to take stern action

On May 9, Inspector-General of Police Razarudin Husain urged the public not to speculate or link the palace to the attacks against several football players.

In an exclusive interview with Malaysiakini, Selangor FC’s Johan has urged all football stakeholders to kick violence out of football for good.

Selangor FC striker Faisal Halim

The interview came after Selangor FC player Faisal Halim was splashed with acid earlier this month, after which he and other club officials received threats, causing Johan to worry about the well-being of his staff.

On Tuesday Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said the government will take stern action against extremists and agitators of recent violent incidents in the country.

In a special address televised nationwide, the premier said there have been attempts to disrupt peace in the nation and its thriving economy. - Mkini
