Govt weak because no collaboration, WhatsApp group - Sanusi

KKB BY-ELECTION | The coalition government under Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is “weak” due to the lack of collaboration between its components, PAS election director Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor claimed.

Hence, he urged the government to let someone else run the country if they were not up to the task.

“I say that you are weak as the government, as you have no proper collaboration between the parties in the administration.

“Everyone is fighting (with each other). They don’t even have a WhatsApp group,” the Kedah menteri besar quipped during Perikatan Nasional’s ceramah in Batang Kali last night.

Sanusi then trained his guns on BN component MIC, which he claimed was “pretending” to campaign for the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election.

“I know MIC is not sincere. They are merely acting. They are not even working in this by-election.

“They (MIC) have their own interests, and thus, declared to support DAP in Kuala Kubu Baharu, but they don’t do any work. Everyone can clearly see this,” said Sanusi.

It is worth noting that MIC initially said that it would only campaign for a BN candidate, but agreed to go back on its word after Anwar’s persuasion.

Govt has to ‘man up’

Sanusi urged the government to address these “glaring problems”, for the sake of the rakyat.

“If you can't answer (these concerns), please step down and let others be the government.”

He further claimed that the government has “no clue” how to handle the issues plaguing the country, and has resorted to using the law to prosecute its critics.

“The government does not know what to do. Anyone who poses a question gets ‘shot down’ with slander (accusations).

“Where else in the world is there a government that is only focused on attacking the opposition? Only in Malaysia. The government has to ‘man up’.

“So I ask Kuala Kubu Baharu voters to choose the PN candidate in this by-election to send a clear signal to the government that they are being rejected by the rakyat.”

The Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election is held following the death of its incumbent Lee Kee Hiong, from cancer on March 21.

Polling for the state constituency will be on May 11, while May 7 will be for early voting.

The by-election will witness a four-way fight between Pang Sock Tao (Pakatan Harapan), Khairul Azhari Saut (PN), Hafizah Zainudin (Parti Rakyat Malaysia), and Nyau Ke Xin (independent). - Mkini
