KKB BY-ELECTION | It is not an offence for ministers to use their official cars when shuttling between official events and Kuala Kubu Baharu, said Transport Minister Anthony Loke.
Citing himself as an example, the DAP secretary-general said he came to Kuala Kubu Baharu from an official event.
“So I think this is normal. Not an abuse,” he told reporters at the sidelines of an event in Ampang Pecah.
“But if there are those who are dissatisfied, they can lodge complaints,” he added, noting that election observers and MACC are also present in Kuala Kubu Baharu.
Meanwhile, Loke was also asked to comment on PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan’s statement that Perikatan Nasional has evidence of corruption but would only file an election petition if it lost the May 11 polls.
“I find this odd. So, it means that if PN wins, no problem?” he asked.
Over the weekend, Bersih urged ministers not to utilise government assets because it is unfair to their opponents.
In 2019, Bersih had said it agreed with the Election Commission that cabinet members could use their official cars and security detail while on the campaign trail. - Mkini
