United Nations World Food Programme director Cindy McCain confirmed that there is a comprehensive famine in the northern Gaza Strip and it may spread, Palestine News Agency reported.
McCain confirmed in a report published on the organisation’s website that the population in the Gaza Strip suffers from severe food shortages and food insecurity after seven months of Israeli aggression.
This is according to the World Food Programme’s observation from the ground, she said.
“There is real horror, and it is very difficult to look at or hear it, hoping that a ceasefire will be reached,” she added.
Humanitarian organisations have warned for months that the Israeli aggression against Gaza has pushed the Strip towards the brink of famine.
