KKB BY-ELECTION | PAS information chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari has reiterated that the party has never opposed the existence of vernacular schools in the country.
Instead, the Pasir Mas MP said PAS only requests that reforms be made to these types of schools.
“PAS has never been against vernacular schools; in fact, we state that vernacular schools can exist but with some reforms.
“These reforms can be discussed in terms of curriculum aspects and others, as proposed by academic experts.
“For us, vernacular schools are not an issue,” Fadhli (above, centre) told reporters at a ceramah in Taman Ampang Pecah last night.
He claimed that his scrutiny of Pakatan Harapan candidate Pang Sock Tao’s educational background was to show that she was not raised and educated in Kuala Kubu Baharu.
Previously, Fadhli challenged Pang to share her SPM results.
Pang, who was a press secretary to the housing and local government minister, then disclosed her SPM and UPSR results, which showed that she was a straight-A student.
Following this, Fadhli then raised posers about Pang being educated in vernacular schools, albeit later claiming he had no issues with vernacular schools themselves.
It was then highlighted to Fadhli that even one of PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang’s grandchildren goes to a Chinese vernacular school. - Mkini
