KOTA TINGGI: A 14-year-old student was killed after his motorcycle crashed into a car at KM1.0 of Jalan Bandar Penawar - Punggai here.
Kota Tinggi OCPD Supt Hussin Zamora said police were alerted about the accident involving two vehicles at 6.50pm on Thursday (May 9).
"The car was being driven by a 22-year-old woman while two teenagers were on the motorcycle.
"The collision between the two vehicles led to serious head injuries on the motorcyclist while his pillion rider, also 14-year-old, suffered injuries on his hands," he said in a statement here on Friday (May 10).
He added that the motorcyclist, who is a secondary school student, died at the scene.
"His body has been sent to the forensics unit at the Kota Tinggi hospital for further investigation.
"The pillion rider is also seeking treatments at the same hospital after he broke his left hand," he said, adding that the driver of the car was not injured.
He said that the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless driving. - Star
