There are many types of Indians. There are Indian Tamils - the single largest group of Indians in Malaysia. This includes Hindu Tamils (vast majority), Tamil Muslims (about 350k-400k) and Indian Tamil Christians.
Then you have the Ceylon Tamils who technically are not "Indians". But they speak Tamil as their mother tongue. Quite a few would speak English as their mother tongue. There are a few hundred thousand Ceylon Tamils in Malaysia (I am guessing, stand to be corrected). A substantial number of 'Indians' in the PKR are actually Ceylon Tamils. A significant number of 'Indian' office bearers in PKR (and hence in local councils and state government appointments where PKR is in power) are also Ceylon Tamils.
A Ceylon Tamil may not be fully representative of an Indian Tamil and an Indian Tamil may not be fully representative of a Ceylon Tamil. No malice here at all - the two groups have different historical roots. That is all. The person who sent me the above video is a close friend of mine, a Ceylon Tamil.
Sadly since the good old British days, there is vast opportunity to divide and rule. This is why we have to come together quickly as one people. And that shall be Malaysian. I think Awtar Singh, the man in the video, has made that jump. Awtar Singh is a Punjabi who was Chairman of the MIC branch in Puchong.
