“The council meeting today discussed the disciplinary report against Hassan and it was decided that no further action will be taken against him,” PKR information chief Fahmi Fadzil told FMT.
In a text message to FMT today, Hassan expressed his gratitude over the central leadership council’s decision.
“Alhamdulillah, syukur, and thank you to PKR,” he said.
Hassan was summoned over his public criticisms of the government, including the decision to award the rollout of the second 5G network to U Mobile Sdn Bhd.
According to a source, he was accused of smearing PKR’s image and also of making remarks deemed insulting towards the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
PKR disciplinary board chairman Tan Yee Kew had previously said a final decision on Hassan’s fate would be made by the top leadership.
Hassan previously told FMT in an interview that Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim had given him the green light to write on any topic, as long as he avoided criticism of the monarchy. - FMT
