Marzuki Mohamad says PN’s constitution requires unanimous approval by the presidential council for disciplinary action and seat decisions.

Marzuki Mohamad said that Clause 7A of PN’s constitution required all disciplinary actions against component parties to be unanimously decided by the coalition’s presidential council, which had the final say on such matters.
“If one president does not agree, no action can be taken,” he said in a Facebook post today.
Marzuki said unanimous approval was also required for decisions on seat allocations and candidate endorsements.
“There is no provision in the PN constitution that gives the chairman absolute power to decide on election seats or issue candidates their endorsement letters.
“Therefore, Bersatu cannot be expelled from PN arbitrarily,” he said.
Marzuki’s remarks come amid renewed tension in PN after PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang announced that Hamzah Zainudin would return as opposition leader and that his new party, Parti Wawasan Negara, would use PN’s logo in the coming state polls.
The announcement drew criticism and accusations that PAS was making decisions unilaterally within PN.
Hadi had also said that it was up to Bersatu to decide whether it wanted to remain in PN. - FMT
