BN chairman Ahmad Zahid Hamidi says the choice of BN's political partner would be made known after the election date is announced.

Zahid, who is also Umno president, said talks with the “parties concerned”, an apparent reference to PAS and Pakatan Harapan, were about “95% complete”.
“We will wait for the election date announcement on Oct 7. After that, we will announce which coalition we will work with or reach an understanding with for the Melaka election,” he told reporters after an event at Universiti Teknologi Mara here.
On Friday, PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said seat talks with Umno were about 90% complete. Zahid said today no decision had been made on whether PAS would contest under the BN logo. However, BN remained open to PAS using its own symbol.
When asked whether BN was prepared to negotiate with PH, Zahid said it was open to doing so. - FMT
