Umno orders Lajim to show cause

Former Umno supreme council member Lajim Ukin has been issued a show cause letter by the party, which instructed him to explain why he should not be sacked as a party member.

According to Umno secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor, Lajim has been given two weeks to reply.

NONETengku Adnan said Umno viewed seriously what Lajim had done, particularly his declaration of the setting up of the 'Pakatan Perubahan Sabah' or Sabah Reform Front and his close association with the opposition front.
"Clause 20.8 of the Umno Constitution requires all members to, among other things, love the party, obey the constitution and code of ethics, and protect the good name and honour of the party.
"What has happened is an internal issue of a personal nature involving Lajim and certain people in the domestic political arena. It should not be linked with a party that has rendered exceptional service to the nation and people," he said.
Lajim has previously announced his resignation as Umno supreme council member and other party positions while remaining as an ordinary party member.

He has also yet to resign as deputy housing and local government minister.

Along with Tuaran MP Wilfred Bumburing, Lajim has pledged to support Pakatan Rakyat in the upcoming general election.

Among others, the duo have cited corruption and the federal government’s failure to deal with Sabah’s longstanding illegal immigration problem.
Prime Minister and Umno president Najib Abdul Razak had said that the duo's antics were not unexpected and will not cause a dent in BN.

    1. Besides, it will be hard for Lajim to struggle alone after this.

  2. Lajim keluarpun, BN tetap kukuh.

  3. Itu sudah semestinya. Tidak ada kesan apa-apa pun jika Lajim keluar daripada BN.

  4. Itu keputusan mereka. Jika Lajim tahu dia tidak buat yang terbaik memang patut juga keluar daripada BN.
