Attorney-General Abdul Gani Patail is standing firm on his decision to close the case on the 321 copies of Bible that were seized by the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais) in January.
This is despite the Selangor Islamic Affairs Council'S (Mais) refusal to return to the holy books to the Bible Society of Malaysia (BSM) and insistence that there is a case to be pursued.
"I have made a statement before this. I do not wish to elaborate further except for that I still hold to my opinion," he reportedly told Mingguan Malaysia.
Mais, a body answerable to the Selangor sultan, oversees Jais operations.
