So many have been vocal about their displeasure at MAIS except anyone from our ruling government. Why is this so?
Whether from PAS, DAP or PKR, at least the opposition’s politicians have their heads screwed on right and are doing good by the people by hitting out against the outrageous MAIS for disrespecting the AG and causing instability in Selangor.
With so many openly questioning MAIS’ authority and understandably perplexed as to who in Selangor is actually running the show, it has become glaringly evident that BN has remained silent through it all as if conveniently washing its hands off the whole Bible controversy.
Its silence also means BN has unequivocally let the people down once again.
Has no one in the ruling coalition the stomach to stand up to MAIS? Has the PM himself lost his will to carry on the difficult balancing act of doing the right thing while not seeming to ditch his Muslim electorate?
Is there no one, anyone in our country above MAIS in terms of authority? Can no one tell the extremists that reside within to stop spinning their warped rationales as to why the Bibles cannot be returned to the Bible Society of Malaysia (BSM) despite a ruling by the AG instructing them to do precisely that?
Six months is way too long already for this ridiculous episode to have dragged on. We cannot blame Pakatan Rakyat for pouncing on this incident and using it for political mileage when the politicians in BN have remained mum like a cat’s got their tongue.
If the BN wishes to regain the people’s trust, it cannot hope to achieve this by always distancing itself when things get ugly. Or are our politicians just plain inept in dealing with anything that resembles dissent in any way?
