Dr Mahathir Mohamad has chosen not to open fire on Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak as soon as landing on Malaysian soil.
Quizzed on Najib, he replied with a smile: "Itu nanti lah (That issue can be dealt with later)."
The former premier and his wife Dr Siti Hasmah Ali had returned this afternoon after performing the umrah in Mecca.
More than 100 supporters gathered at Subang Skypark to welcome the couple.
Among those present were former law minister Zaid Ibrahim, Umno's Khairuddin Abu Hassan and Perkasa leaders.
The supporters held banners, which among others read, "Selamat Pulang ke Tanah Air Pahlawan Negara (Welcome Home Nation's Warrior)".
'Better PM just resign'
Meanwhile, Khairuddin flayed Tourism and Culture Minister Nazri Abdul Aziz for asking Mahathir to contest against Najib in the latter's parliament stronghold of Pekan.
"Nazri should ask Mahathir to challenge Najib in a neutral place like Wangsa Maju or Bandar Tun Razak," he added.
Khairruddin, who filed a police report against 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) last year, now plans on writing to all 222 parliamentarians on the issue.
"Najib has lied to Parliament about 1MDB, so I am going to write letters to all MPs," he told reporters.
Perkasa members made up the bulk of the crowd today although their president Ibrahim Ali was absent.
Secretary-general Syed Hassan Syed Ali who turned up said Perkasa has always supported Mahathir and wants Umno president Najib to answer Mahathir's queries regarding 1MDB's losses.
"If he (Najib) just keeps quiet, better for him to just resign," he said. - Mkini
