Sabah won’t be influenced by criticism against PM

Deputy chief minister says Najib has brought a lot of development to the state and so will continue to support him

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah will not be influenced by accusations and negative criticisms made against Prime Minister Najib Razak, said Parti Bersatu Sabah president Joseph Pairin Kitingan.

The deputy chief minister said Sabah would remain rational and continue to support the country’s leadership under Najib.

The people, he said, should not simply hurl accusations and criticisms at the PM, but look at the transformation and development made by Najib.

“The prime minister has done a lot to bring changes in this state. He has been helping to bring development in Sabah. Why must we follow others to pull him down? he asked.

“Sabah will continue to give its full support to the prime minister for the good of the state,” he told reporters here yesterday.

On security in Sabah, Pairin said Najib had made a wise move in setting up the Eastern Sabah Security Command and the Eastern Sabah Security Zone as well as setting up a Royal Commission of Inquiry on Illegal Immigrants.
